Immigrant Kitchens helped Freeport High School Freshman Global Studies Class cook an authentic Sudanese meal as part of its fundraising event: Dinner for Darfur. The event raised awareness about the ongoing genocide and $1000 that the students donated to Fur Cultural Revival.
The International Foodservice Editorial Council (IFEC) showcased Lindsay Sterling as a master of craft in Greater Portland along with chefs of Zapoteca, Fore Street, 555, Tao, and 7 other restaurants. At the 3-day conference, Sterling prepared Mexican pork chilaquiles for 150 food media professionals from around the nation and gave a feature presentation about finding culinary inspiration inside immigrant kitchens.
